Hello, everyone! This is my first blog post on this project, but it's more of an introductory one. Let's get down to it.
Over the course of twelve weeks, I will be attempting to write five to seven chapters of a novel. The months of September and October will be alotted to world building, plot outlining, character development, and other novel prepping stuff. I'll hopefully be able to get the first chapter written before NaNoWriMo starts. For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is a challenge that spans the month of November. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel within a month (a link to their website is on my home page). I will be getting the bulk of my writing done then. When December rolls around, I'll be going through the editing process with my two mentors. When everything is said and done, I'll do an evaluation post and put the completed chapters on here (excerpts may or may not show up). The goal of this project is to write five to seven chapters of a novel, yes, but I hope to do much more than that. I desire to learn more about the novel writing process and how to manage my time better (I'll be juggling this project along with other homework, extracurricular activities, and the like). My blog is document the course of this project, but also what I've learned. My success will be up to my mentors to determine, yet even if I fail, I will have become a much better writer. "The discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen." -Lee Iacocca Alene out.
